Keke Palmer sizzled at the Los Angeles premiere of her movie Nope on Monday night, July 18, in a hot-off-the-runway look that flaunted major abs!

The 28-year-old star was definitely giving off Y2K vibes in a trendy white corset top paired with a black low-rise maxi skirt from Marc Jacobs. Y2K fashion and the iconic corset are having a moment right now – the latter was the look du jour during this year’s Met Gala – and Palmer was the latest celeb to jump in on the trend. And oh, how she rocked it!

The Runway Look

The Emmy award-winning actress showed off the outfit in a photo dump posted on Instagram yesterday, which she captioned, “It’s the runway look for me.” It consists of a combination of mid and full shots highlighting the cropped white corset top, black opera gloves, the long skirt with a high slit at the back, the chunky platforms, and her stunning diamonds. Also worth noting are those beautiful box braids that reached all the way down to her booty!

Marc Jacobs Fall 2022

The entire outfit (except for the jewels) is from Marc Jacobs’ Fall 2022 collection (watch the video above), which the designer sent down the runway just last month. Trivia: per Vogue, the strappy, vertiginous platforms are coincidentally named Kikis.

The jewels, meanwhile, are Bulgari.

The Stylists

For her red carpet moment, Palmer enlisted celebrity stylists Wayman and Micah, whose other famous clients include Tessa Thompson and Regina King. The three previously worked together when the True Jackson, VP alum hired the styling duo to dress her up for her talk show, Just Keke, from 2014 to 2016.

Now, they’ve reunited for the Nope red carpet, and Wayman and Micah wanted a look that was the exact opposite of Palmer’s more “covered up” character in the movie – hence, the skin-baring ensemble by Marc Jacobs.

'Made Me Feel Fierce'

And what does the actress think of the outfit her stylists put together? She told Vogue,

“I loved that this look made me feel fierce immediately upon putting it on! I’ve been a huge fan of Marc and his artistry for years so I jumped at the opportunity to wear one of his designs for the premiere. It made me feel powerful and effortless at the same time, which is very hard to do. In the end, the entire look, mixed with my braids, really felt futurist yet classic—which I thought was perfect for the Nope premiere and fit the theme of the film.”
