Bella Hadid wore the most talked-about dress of Paris Fashion Week!

The 26-year-old supermodel closed the Coperni Spring 2023 show in the most jaw-dropping way. After the rest of the models had shown off their looks, she stepped onto the runway in nothing but her underwear and a pair of heels. Two scientists then proceeded to spray a white liquid over her torso and legs, as a third one stood by at the back with the equipment.

What happened next was a magical moment – a cross between fashion and a science experiment. Watch it below.

Spray-On Dress

In under 10 minutes, the liquid had dried into a fabric, the beginnings of an actual dress. The high-tech material is called Fabrican and its creator is Dr. Manel Torres, one of the scientists on the runway with Bella.

Next, Coperni’s Head of Design, Charlotte Raymond, came onstage and shaped the straps into an off-the-shoulder-neckline, cleaned the excess fibers off Bella’s skin, and cut a thigh-high slit on the skirt.

Extraordinary Moment In Fashion

The result was a beautiful white dress that fit Bella like a second skin. After striking a pose as the audience applauded this extraordinary moment in fashion, the model sashayed down the runway to show off the stunning look.

More cheers erupted backstage as a beaming Bella exited the runway. In the last clip in the carousel she shared on her Instagram, she can be seen arm in arm with Coperni’s Creative Director, Sébastien Meyer, and CEO, Arnaud Vaillant, all of them elated in the brand’s incredible achievement.

Making Fashion History

Coperni is not selling the dress but they certainly made fashion history with it. Vaillant told CNN ahead of the show, “We're not going to make money on this but it's more of a celebration of innovation and having strong moments in fashion because we're passionate about pushing fashion forward.”

Meyer, meanwhile, provided additional info about the technology. “You can wear this dress, keep it as a dress and put it on a hanger,” he said. “But if you don't want it anymore, you can put back the dress into the liquid and you can immediately spray it again.”

The Moment Has Gone Viral

Unsurprisingly, the moment has gone viral, invading social media as well as fashion and news websites. Bella’s videos have amassed 3.5 million likes so far, while two earlier posts gathered more than 6.6 million likes combined as well. The goosebumps moment was like seeing Fairy Godmother giving Cinderella a makeover, but with a futuristic touch!
